Sanders held 16 offers from schools such as Rutgers, Missouri and Ole Miss. If he signs with the Bobcats, he'll be the second-highest-ranked recruit in program history, with standout 2025 freshman DJ Hall being first. Sanders is a 6-foot-7, 200-pound lefty that 247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein describes as "a good athlete and leaper with the size and physical tools to play multiple positions."

Texas State will enter the Pac-12 next season, where the level of men's basketball will be dramatically higher compared to the Sun Belt. Gonzaga, San Diego State, Utah State and Colorado State are regulars at March Madness, while Texas State last made it to the NCAA Tournament in 1997.

The Bobcats have ambitious goals for their time in the Pac-12, including seven total NCAA Tournament appearances by the men's and women's basketball teams in the next decade. Recruiting wins over Southeastern Conference and Big Ten teams is a key step in reaching that goal.

The next game this season for Bobcats (14-11, 7-6) is a 2 p.m. Saturday clash with Western Michigan.
