The Delsea Regional High School wrestling team's drive for five has reached its desired destination.
The Crusaders are headed to Rutgers University, site of Sunday’s state wrestling championships, following a 48-28 home victory over Rampo in the state Group 3 semifinal round on Friday.
Delsea (21-3), the four-time defending state Group 3 champion, will wrestle Brick Memorial (17-8) in Sunday’s title match. The meet is scheduled for 2:30 at Rutgers’ Jersey Mike’s Arena. However, the NJSIAA is expected to make an announcement of any time changes on Saturday, a day ahead of a potential heavy snowstorm.
Amari Vann (138) and Anthony DePaul delivered key pins as Delsea jumped to an early 12-6 lead before Cameron Pote (190), Greg Sawyer (215) and Sal Marchese (285) rattled off consecutive pins to put the Crusaders ahead 34-18.

Lower Cape May will wrestle for its first-ever state title after earning a 42-27 win over Caldwell on Friday.
The Caper Tigers (22-3) will face two-time defending state champion Rumson-Fair Haven (17-4) in Sunday’s title meet at Rutgers. The meet is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., but that could change if the NJSIAA moves the tournament time up due to a pending snowstorm.
