Nebraska softball dominates Seattle and California to conclude weekend

No. 10 Nebraska softball (11-4) wrapped up the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Sunday with a doubleheader against Seattle (9-6) and California (5-11). The Huskers shut out their opponents by a combined 15-0, finishing the weekend 5-0. This is their first undefeated run in program history at the tournament.
Nebraska started the day by taking down the Redhawks, 9-0, in six innings. The Huskers started swiftly, scoring two runs in the first, before adding four in the third and three in the sixth. Nebraska totaled eight hits for eight RBIs.

Jordy Frahm led the Huskers with three RBIs, going 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run. Carlie Muhlbach batted 2-for-2 for two RBIs. Ava Kuszak, Jesse Farrell and Hannah Coor all chipped in one RBI.
Hannah Camenzind (3-0) earned the win in the circle, pitching 5.0 innings, throwing four strikeouts and allowing just four hits and no runs. Kylee Magee closed out the game by pitching the sixth inning, tossing one strikeout and surrendering one hit.
Nebraska then delivered a 6-0 shutout against the Golden Bears in the afternoon, despite going scoreless in the first three innings. The Huskers picked up their first run in the fourth but put the game away in the sixth off a Lauren Camenzind grand slam, her only hit of the game. Ava Kuszak and Bella Bacon each contributed an RBI and two hits. Hannah Camenzind also finished with two hits.
Alexis Jensen (5-1) picked up the win in the circle, throwing six strikeouts and allowing two hits and no runs across 4.0 innings. Frahm pitched the final 3.0 innings, picking up five strikeouts against two hits.
The Huskers now travel down to Oklahoma for a five-game stretch against No. 24 Oklahoma State, South Dakota State and Tulsa. Nebraska starts its Oklahoma trip against the Cowboys on Thursday night. The first pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT.
