King Green dispatched another young prospect in impressive fashion after finishing Daniel Zellhuber in the second round at UFC Mexico.

It was a vintage performance from Green as he repeatedly frustrated Zellhuber with his hands held low while taunting his opponent to come after him. The counter strikes worked effectively and eventually Zellhuber got a little too close to the fire and Green cracked him with a stiff straight left following by another punch behind it.

The shots left Zellhuber on wobbly legs and Green seized on the opening, dropping him to the ground and then just unloading a barrage of punches that left referee Herb Dean no choice but to stop the contest. The end came at 4:55 in the second round.

Following the win, Green gave a shout out to Black History Month and then made a call for the UFC to bring back one of his closest friends.

“Dana [White], bring my boy Nate Diaz back to the UFC,” Green shouted. “Let him retire where he belongs.”

Despite having a size and reach advantage, Zellhuber struggled to really put together combinations that connected as Green consistently ducked and dodged his way out of trouble. The constant movement combined with Green’s unique way to frustrate his opponents definitely worked on Zellhuber.

That’s effectively what led to the finish at Zellhuber decided to just rush forward as he attempted to trap Green against the cage but instead he got tagged hard with two punches that left him hurt badly. A few second later, Green had Zellhuber on the canvas where he blasted away until he got the stoppage.

Following a tough two-fight losing skid, Green has returned to form with back-to-back wins as the 39-year-old veteran proves the old dog still has plenty of tricks left up his sleeve.
