Next week, the USA Women's Basketball team will head to San Juan, Puerto Rico to compete in FIBA World Cup qualifying before the tournament itself tips off in September.

This is the start of a transitional period for the national team. The squad named Thursday morning includes burgeoning WNBA superstars who are getting their first crack at the senior side, after excelling for the junior sides in recent years.

Clark named to World Cup qualifying squad

As expected, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark was named to the FIBA Women's World Cup qualifying squad, along with Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese.

They all are expected to make their national team debuts in Puerto Rico, beginning with the March 11 contest against Senegal.

The Indiana Fever responded positively on X to the Clark news, posting "let's go CC" as the two-time All-Star's long-awaited national team debut nears. Assuming she remains healthy following an injury-plagued 2025 season, Clark is likely to join the national team in Germany for the World Cup itself, which will be held between Sept. 4 and Sept. 13.

It was further revealed Thursday that the World Cup Qualifying Tournament broadcast rights have been awarded to TNT Sports in the United States. That means fans can watch Clark turn out for the Stars and Stripes on TNT, truTV and HBO Max.
