Tyler Biadasz, ex-Wisconsin center, signs with new team

Free agency begins in earnest in the NFL next week, but Tyler Biadasz will spend the weekend with his destination intact.

The former University of Wisconsin center signed a three-year deal worth up to $30 million with the Los Angeles Chargers, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. That's an upgrade from where Biadasz stood, on track to make $8.3 million with Washington in 2026 before the Commanders made him a surprising cut.

Biadasz, 28, hails from Amherst, Wisconsin, and was a Pro Bowler with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022. He spent four years in Dallas and two in Washington, missing only five starts over the past four years.

Biadasz has made $27.1 million in career earnings since he was a fourth-round pick in 2020.

Because he was released, he was free to sign with another team at any time. The official start of free agency for everyone else begins March 11, but teams can begin negotiating terms in the "legal tampering" phase that begins March 9.

Among the teams potentially interested in a center: The Green Bay Packers, depending on whether they bring back Sean Rhyan, and the Chicago Bears, who lost 2025 starter Drew Dalman to a surprise retirement.
