The "Race to the Sun" covers eight days, with riders traveling from the capital to the Côte d'Azur, and there's a good chance we'll see a first-time winner in 2026.
U.S. rider Matteo Jorgenson won in 2024 and 2025 but will not race this year, nor will many of the World Tour's heavy hitters. The lone previous champion in this year's field is Marc Soler of Spain, who won Paris-Nice in 2018.
That leaves the favourite label squarely on Danish star Jonas Vingegaard, the 2022 and 2023 Tour de France winner who also took GC honors at last year's Vuelta a España. Vingegaard finished third at Paris-Nice in 2023 and was leading the race last year when he crashed out in Stage 5.
There are no guarantees in stage racing, so cycling fans should be in for a week of exciting racing as the peloton travels south through France. Here's everything you need to know to watch.
