After a series of close games in a busy Big Ten tournament, Purdue found a way to win big. In the tournament quarterfinals on Friday, the No. 7-seeded Boilermakers defeated No. 2-seeded Nebraska in surprisingly dominant matchup, 74-58.

Purdue entered the game as a 4.5-point favorite, but the result was much more definitive. The Boilermakers took the lead from the jump and didn’t look back, pulling ahead by as many as 18 points.

Even as the Cornhuskers kept finding ways to cut into Purdue’s lead, the Boilermakers found ways to dance just out of reach. Turnovers ended up being a key piece of the Boilermakers’ win: Purdue scored 17 points off of Nebraska’ 10 turnovers. The Boilermakers also picked up 19 second-chance points, compared to the Huskers' eight.

The Huskers cleaned up their sloppy mistakes significantly towards the end of the game, but couldn't regain momentum or break into Purdue's substantial lead. Four Boilermakers ended with double-digit points, led by Fletcher Loyer's 19-point showing.
