Kim Caldwell to hire Florida State's Bill Ferrara to Lady Vols staff, per report

Lady Vols basketball coach Kim Caldwell is expected to hire Florida State associate head coach Bill Ferrara to her staff, according to a report from Volquest on March 30.

Ferrara where he spent the last four seasons at FSU on Brooke Wyckoff's staff. Ferrara is credited running the fast-paced offense in Wyckoff's system, and the Seminoles led the nation in scoring with 86.9 points per game in the 2024-25 season.
Ferrara will replace former Lady Vols assistant Gabe Lazo, who Caldwell parting ways with after two seasons, according to a report March 30.
Ferrara is an excellent coaching addition for Caldwell's system. In each of his first three seasons, Florida State set program records for made 3-pointers. The Seminoles hit 232 in 2022-23, then 241 in 2023-24 and then 286 in 2024-25.
Ferrara has also made stops at Central Michigan, Hofstra, George Washington, Florida, New Mexico and St. John's. The Brooklyn, New York, native was an associate head coach at St. John's in 2021-22.
Ferrara brings a wealth of experience in addition to offense, coaching post players at New Mexico from 2017-21. He also coached in the SEC at Florida, his alma mater, from 2015-17 on Amanda Butler's staff, and he is credited with helping coach the Gators to lead the SEC in scoring in 2015-16.
Ferrara aided in recruiting and strength and conditioning, as well as post player development during his stint at George Washington from 2013-15. He coached 2021 WNBA MVP Jonquel Jones at George Washington.
