According to reports by the Free Press Journal, Trevor Patel emerged as the champion jockey of the season after a consistent run in the saddle. The season also saw strong performances across other categories, with Five Star Shipping Co. Pvt. Ltd. taking the honours as champion owner.

Young rider Aditya Waydande enjoyed a memorable campaign, claiming both the champion apprentice jockey title and the apprentice jockey award in the claiming category. Meanwhile, Usha Stud Farms was crowned champion stud farm.

Final day brings relief for bettors

The final day of the season proved far more pleasant for bettors compared to the turbulence they had endured on the penultimate day. Among the trainers who enjoyed a productive season was Pradeep Chouhan, whose career has steadily progressed since he began training in Pune. Chouhan’s horses have shown noticeable improvement this season, reflecting the trainer’s growing influence on the circuit.

Ardakan springs a surprise win

Chouhan saddled two runners in the Cursetjee Dhunjishaw Salver, with Your Unforgettable widely regarded as the better prospect. However, racing often thrives on surprises, and it was his second runner, Ardakan, who produced a spirited performance to win against expectations.

Shaandaar seals Shroff’s dominance

Shroff’s dominance during the season was further underlined in the Astral Flash Plate, where his runner Shaandaar claimed the mile-long contest to give the champion trainer his final victory of the campaign.

The bay colt’s performance was particularly striking, considering he had finished well behind the favourite Incredible Luck on debut last month. On Monday, however, Shaandaar turned the tables in style, delivering a commanding run.
