What is Wiles story?

According to Travis Pittman of the Central Oregon Daily, Wiles survived a plane crash seven months ago in Sisters, Oregon. At the time, Wiles was a passenger on a training flight when the plane dovetailed.

Wiles credits her boyfriend Maxime Boutemy of saving her life. Maxime helped Wiles out of the wreckage before the plane went into flames. Wiles’s symptoms were a concussion and burns.

Before the accident occurred, Wiles had dreams of being a pilot. It will be interesting to see if those dreams still exist, or if Wiles will concentrate now fully on skiing.

Heading into the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, Wiles had won four World Cup downhill medals in alpine skiing, with a lot of success on the Olympic course. She had won a bronze medal at Cortina in 2018, and silver medal in Cortina in 2024.

Wiles’s other two World Cup medals were bronze medals in Zauchensee, Austria. The first came in 2017, and the second came last month.
