A theft during a Canadian wrestling tour has left the wrestling world focused on the whereabouts of a missing piece of history tied to WWE legend Davey Boy Smith.

According to Newsweek, Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE), which is currently traveling across Western Canada for its 17th Anniversary tour, reported that a break-in occurred in the early hours of February 25 at a hotel in Lloydminster. According to details shared by the promotion, a trailer used to transport equipment was forcibly entered while talent and staff were staying overnight.

Several items were taken, many of them connected to Davey Boy Smith Jr., including his travel bag, wrestling gear, and personal jewelry. Among the stolen property was something far more significant: the WWE Hall of Fame ring awarded to the family of Davey Boy Smith following his posthumous induction.

The ring, presented in 2021 as part of the 2020 Hall of Fame class, is considered irreplaceable due to its connection to the late British Bulldog’s legacy. Also reported missing was a Hart Foundation leather vest worn during Smith’s career, along with a CWE Tag Team Championship belt.

An update from CWE indicated that some of the stolen items have since been recovered. The vest, ring gear, and championship belt were returned, but the WWE Hall of Fame ring remains unaccounted for.

WWE star Natalya, who is part of the extended Hart family, addressed the situation publicly and offered an incentive for its return. “These are valuable items of my cousin’s and his late father’s ring gear. I’ll personally offer a $5,000 USD reward if the items are returned. No questions asked,” she wrote.

Georgia Smith, the daughter of Davey Boy Smith, also reacted to the incident online, describing the loss as deeply upsetting for the family given the personal significance of the stolen items.

Law enforcement in the area, including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, has launched an investigation into the break-in and is seeking any information that could help recover the remaining item.

Despite the disruption, CWE officials confirmed that the tour will proceed as planned. Events have continued across Saskatchewan, with upcoming stops unaffected as the promotion balances ongoing performances with efforts to recover the missing ring.
