Canada arrived at Daikin Park in Houston wearing the exact silver medal hockey jerseys from the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics—the very same jerseys they wore when both the men's and women's teams lost their gold medal games to the United States just weeks ago.

Josh Naylor, a native of Mississauga, Ontario, led the charge by wearing a Paul Kariya 2002 Olympic jersey—a nod to the year Canada famously beat the U.S. in Salt Lake City to end a 50-year gold medal drought.

Per MLB Network's Bob Nightengale, "Hockey Canada sent a message to Canada’s baseball team in the WBC hoping that a victory over USA tonight would help dull the sting of losing the gold medal in the Olympic hockey games with the men and women’s teams."
