Real Madrid pushing for out-of-favour midfielder’s summer exit who has only one destination in mind

The future of Dani Ceballos is once again set to dominate headlines, with Real Madrid preparing for another summer of uncertainty surrounding the midfielder.
According to an update from Jorge Picon, the upcoming transfer window could finally bring a resolution to a situation that has dragged on for years, although nothing about Ceballos’ case is ever straightforward.

The journalist says that Real Madrid are open to moving the midfielder on and would have preferred his departure as early as last summer.
Back then, there was a genuine opportunity for an exit. Negotiations with Olympique Marseille progressed to an advanced stage, with a deal seemingly close.
However, just as everything appeared set, the midfielder made a late decision to stay in Madrid, halting the transfer at the final moment.
That choice has only delayed the inevitable.
So what now?
Now, as the new transfer window approaches, Real Madrid are expected to make another push to offload the player.
Interest from clubs abroad is already building, and the club are keen to resolve his future sooner rather than later. Still, the biggest obstacle remains the player himself.
Despite being under contract until 2027, Ceballos has struggled to establish himself as a key figure, often finding himself on the fringes of the squad.

Ceballos has consistently shown reluctance to leave unless the right opportunity arises.
In fact, there is only one club he would accept without hesitation, which is Real Betis.
The midfielder’s emotional connection to Betis is well known, and a return to his former club remains his preferred outcome.
While other offers may be considered if they emerge, none carry the same appeal.
That said, there is a growing belief that this summer could finally mark the end of his time at Real Madrid.
However, Ceballos has previously insisted on staying and seeing out his contract, and there is no guarantee that his position will shift easily.
What is certain, though, is that his situation will become one of the most closely followed stories of the window.
Real Madrid want a clean break, suitors are lining up, and the player has a clear preference.
